After more than three decades of serving the citizens of Illinois, Louis Apostol, M.B.A. ’74, J.D. ’78, has earned the NIU Alumni Association’s Achievement in Public Service Award.
John Harold Armstrong, 88, of Mattoon, IL, passed away in Mattoon, on September 5, 2022. Born January 30, 1934, and raised in Champaign, IL, he was the son of John Harold and Pauline Burt Armstrong.

Honorable Marcy "Marcella" C. Lipinski was born on June 20, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to the parents of Eugene and Maria Murawski. At 80 years old, she passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 2, 2022. She was the wife of Leonard “Ed” Lipinski, and they shared 45 years of marriage together.
Bruce D. Locher, age 81, of Columbia, MO, passed away on August 11, 2022, at The Neighborhoods.

Hon. George Sutcliffe Miller, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Champaign, Illinois, on August 31, 2022.
Michael S. Danian, age 90, from Waukegan, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Michael was born November 29, 1931, to Sarkis and Esther Dayenian. He practiced law in Waukegan for many years.
Michael is survived by his children; Kathryn (Steve) Ejnik, Michele (John Wittenborn) Bailey, and John (Abigail) Danian. Grandfather to Olivia, Chloe, Isaac, Ryan, Josh, Luke, Ali, Amelia, and Henry; brother to Ursula Dayenian and the late Roxanne (Paul) Obenauf.
ISBA member Timothy Tomasik was sworn in as the 2022-23 Chicago Bar Association President at the group’s annual meeting on June 23.
