The Law and Leadership Institute (LLI), co-sponsored by ISBA and the Just the Beginning Foundation, kicked off on July 23 at the John Marshall Law School. The students visited Cook County Domestic Violence Court on Monday, Aug. 6 to learn more about the legal system.

The Law and Leadership Institute (LLI), co-sponsored by ISBA and the Just the Beginning Foundation, kicked off on July 23 at the John Marshall Law School. Women in the Law and Men in the Law panels took place on Monday, July 30, allowing students to ask question about careers in the law and diversity in the law.

A ceremony was held recently to commemorate the renaming of the Cook County Criminal Court Building at 26th Street and California Avenue in Chicago to the Honorable George N. Leighton Criminal Court Building. Members of the Illinois Supreme Court, Illinois Appellate Court, Circuit Court of Cook County, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois participated in the ceremony, as well as a number of elected officials and the friends and family of Judge Leighton.
