    Howard L. Huntington joins MSC Litigation Team

    Mahoney, Silverman & Cross, LLC is pleased to announce the addition of Howard L. Huntington to its litigation team. Howard has over 13 years of experience focusing his practice on business torts, commercial litigation, construction, product liability, public entity, civil rights and transportation litigation. He has successfully represented corporations, banks and municipalities in a wide variety of civil litigation. Prior to joining our litigation team, Howard was a partner at Williams Montgomery & John, Ltd., where his work included defending the insureds of several major insurance carriers. He is "AV Preeminent" peer review rated by Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest peer recognition for ethical standards and legal ability. Howard was selected by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as one of the 40 Illinois Attorneys Under 40 to Watch in 2012.

    Nicholas Johnson rejoins Querrey & Harrow's Waukegan office

    Querrey & Harrow is pleased to announce the return of Nicholas Johnson, who will practice in its Waukegan office.  Mr. Johnson focuses his practice on litigation, construction law, and contract issues.

    Mr. Johnson received his BA degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2000, and his JD degree, magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2005.  He is admitted to practice in both Illinois and Wisconsin, and is a member of the federal trial bar. 

    Mr. Johnson is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, the Wisconsin Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, the McHenry County Bar Association, the Defense Research Institute, and the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel.  Mr. Johnson also sits on the Zoning and Building Commission for the Village of Antioch, where he resides with his family

    James T. McGovern joins Daley Mohan Groble, P.C.

    Daley Mohan Groble, P.C. takes great pleasure in announcing that James T. McGovern has joined the firm as an Associate Attorney.

    James is a 2002 graduate of DePaul University College of Law and started his career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel with the City of Chicago. After gaining experience in the Tort Division of that office, James was promoted Special Litigation Counsel for the City of Chicago, defending police officers in high exposure Civil Rights cases. Most recently, he continued defending those cases at a private firm. During his career, James has tried over 20 jury cases to verdict and handled a wide variety of Tort, Commercial and Civil Rights Litigation. At Daley Mohan Groble, James will use his diverse experience to represent the firm’s clients.

    Sara Cooper joins Quarles & Brady's Real Estate Practice Group in Chicago

    The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP announced that Sara A. Cooper has joined the firm's Chicago office as an associate in the Real Estate Practice Group.

    Cooper's practice includes representation of a variety of clients in real estate matters such as acquisitions and dispositions of investment real estate and corporate real estate holdings, negotiation of office and retail leases; and other real estate transactions and commercial transactions.

    She received her law degree, with honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law and her undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Boston College.

    Nura Yanaki joins Litigation Department of Polsinelli Shughart's Chicago office

    Polsinelli Shughart welcomes Nura A. Yanaki to the Chicago office as an associate in the Litigation Department where she will concentrate her practice in the defense of companies involved in complex toxic and mass tort litigation. Yanaki joins a national team of toxic and mass tort attorneys who practice in Chicago, Kansas City, Phoenix and St. Louis.

    “We are pleased to have Nura join our growing Chicago office,” said Chicago Managing Director Anthony J. Nasharr. “Nura was an outstanding law student and excelled in her undergraduate work in California. Her work since leaving law school has also prepared her for the broad-based litigation she will help handle for clients at the firm.”

    Yanaki most recently worked with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, with a team of trial attorneys on class action cases involving Title VII and ADA violations.

    While in law school Yanaki externed with various federal agencies including; the U.S. Department of Justice – Executive Office for Immigration Review, and the U.S. Department of Labor – Employee Benefits Security Administration, as well as the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also served as an Illinois 711 certified senior law student where she represented a child as a guardian ad litem in Cook County Probate Court.

    Park, Nelson and Van Vooren join Califf & Harper

    Califf & Harper, P.C. is pleased to welcome Robert T. Park, Steven L. Nelson, and Joseph N. Van Vooren as the newest additions to the firm.  As of July 1, 2012, Park, Nelson, and Van Vooren have joined Califf & Harper as shareholders bringing along their expertise relating to new and existing firm practice areas. In addition to the many practice areas Califf & Harper, P.C. already offers its clients, the firm will now assist clients with insurance defense, creditor bankruptcy claims, and workers’ compensation defense.

    Robert T. Park practices mainly in the areas of general civil and commercial litigation and insurance defense, has appeared before the Illinois Supreme Court, and is licensed to appear before the United States Supreme Court.  Mr. Park has a long-standing history of involvement with the Illinois State Bar Association and Rock Island Optimist Club.  He earned both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and his law degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.  Mr. Park has practiced law in the Quad Cities area for more than 37 years adding to Califf & Harper, P.C.’s proud service in this area since 1869.

    Snyder earned both his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Iowa, graduating from law school with distinction. He has 45 years of experience and was most recently President of a Rock Island law firm.

    Runnels is a magna cum laude graduate of Luther College and graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa Law School.

    Both of these attorneys concentrate in the fields of business transactions, estate planning, probate and real estate.

    Kocourek joins Much Shelist as Special Counsel

    Tracy Kocourek recently joined Much Shelist as Special Counsel in the IP & Technology practice group. Kocourek focuses on intellectual property and technology law and represents clients in a broad range of related transactional matters. She has significant experience in drafting and negotiating global technology contracts with Fortune 500 corporations, including agreements for professional services, outsourcing, systems integration, software licensing and software as a service, among others. 

    Kocourek holds a J.D. degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Before joining Much Shelist, she served as Senior Legal Counsel and the North America Legal Lead for Accenture Software in Chicago.

    Mollet named VP of Legal Services and General Counsel for Edward Hospital

    Chris Mollet has been named Vice President of Legal Services and General Counsel for Edward Hospital & Health Services in Naperville, Illinois.  Edward is the 8th largest hospital, based on net patient revenue, in the Chicago area according to Crain’s Chicago Business.

    Mollet has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare law.  He was most recently the Associate University Counsel (Chief Health Law Counsel) at the University of Illinois at Chicago, including the University of Illinois Medical Center, Medical Faculty Practice Plans and Health Sciences Colleges. 

    Previously, Mollet was Senior Vice President and General Counsel for American Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. in Naperville and Partner and Chair, Chicago Health Practice Group of the Foley & Lardner law firm in Chicago. 

    Mollet earned his law degree and a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction from the University of Wisconsin.

    Sullivan named to management committee of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP

    The national law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Peter D. Sullivan has been appointed to the firm’s Management Committee. The seven-member Management Committee is Hinshaw’s highest governing body.

    Mr. Sullivan serves on the firm’s Executive Committee and previously served as the leader of Hinshaw’s Business Litigation Department. He handles complex professional liability and commercial litigation, including actions against accountants and attorneys, director and officer liability and coverage cases, consumer class action cases and breach of contract cases.
