    YLD’s Beyond Objection: Using Theatre Techniques for Effective Counsel
    On Dec. 8, 2023, the ISBA Young Lawyers Division (YLD) presented the CLE program, Beyond Objection: Using Theatre Techniques for Effective Counsel, in conjunction with the Joint Midyear Meeting at the JW Marriott in Chicago. Speaker Nelson Velazquez (Nezprov Productions) engaged attendees in a number of interactive activities that are used by improvisational actors to help strengthen quick-thinking and story-telling abilities. YLD Vice-Chair Hannah R. Lamore of Mahoney, Silverman & Cross, LLC, in Joliet, IL, served as the program moderator.

    Illinois Lawyer Finder Makes More Than 900 Referrals in December
    The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of December, 2023, ISBA helped 917 people in need of legal services find lawyers.

    On October 7, 2023, Hamas unleashed a brutal attack of terror in Israel, killing over 1,000 civilians, sexually assaulting women and girls, and kidnapping approximately 240 innocent people, many of whom remain captive at time of publication.
