Howard & Howard Attorneys PLLC has announced that Noah A. Menold has joined the firm. He will practice out of the firm’s Peoria office.
Menold focuses his practice on commercial ligation. Prior to joining Howard & Howard, he concentrated his practice on health care and medical malpractice defense.
Charles H. Wilhelm, 83, of Lewistown, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1935, at Dunfermline, the son of William D. and Kathryn (Jenkins) Wilhelm. He married Connie Grzanich on Sept. 15, 1962, in Bryant. She survives along with three sons, Thomas Wilhelm of Canton, Charles Wilhelm of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Bill Wilhelm of Lewistown; five grandchildren, Ryan, Alana, Jesse, John and Jacqueline; and three great grandchildren, Lindsey, Rory and Jayce. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The ISBA has launched a new search engine that includes filters to help users more easily find resources and information online.
The main search now includes CLE programs, Illinois Lawyer Now posts, and YouTube videos. Users can filter search results by content type, practice area, year, and more.
Steven L. Blakely, 53, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018. He was born to David and Marilyn Neet Blakely on Dec. 22, 1964.
He married Kimberly Edwards in Zimbabwe, Africa, on July 7, 1998. They have three sons, Tom (17), John (15) and Henry (12).
The University of Illinois College of Law Library Reading Room will be undergoing renovations beginning Dec. 26.
Sprinklers will be added and the ceiling and lights will be upgraded. University officials anticipate the project will be completed in late April or early May 2019.

The Illinois Lawyers’ Assistance Program (LAP) swore in the organization’s incoming president, Justice Mary K. O’Brien, during the LAP Annual Dinner on Nov. 1.
Illinois Supreme Court and Illinois Appellate Court justices welcomed 1,283 new attorneys to the legal profession on Nov. 8 during admissions ceremonies held at five different locations across the state.
ISBA staff members were in attendance at all five ceremonies to welcome the state's newest attorneys to the profession, take photos, and talk about the benefits of ISBA membership, which is free for one year for new admittees. Member benefits can be activated by filling out the New Admittee Membership Form.
All of those who were sworn in have passed the Illinois State Bar Examination and a required ethics examination and were certified by the Supreme Court Committee on Character and Fitness. They bring the total number of licensed attorneys in Illinois to approximately 98,000.
New attorneys were admitted to practice in Illinois on Nov. 8 at five separate locations across the state. The Fourth Judicial District ceremony was held in the auditorium of the Michael J. Howlett Building, Second and Jackson Street, in Springfield.
